moving on up...

Sitting in the doorway of our tent trailer...

the dog whisperer

"swimming" in the creek

Em and Syd
Daddy's girl
Em had a little impromptu preschool graduation on the second-to-last day of school--the kids made their own hats and then on the playground, Teacher Patty said something nice about each child. I was working and I took a lunch break to come over and give her some daisies...I cannot believe preschool is over and Kindergarten is looming! I am so proud of my girls but I wish life could slow down just a little...it is flying by so fast!
My favorite part...Kaia is Emma's biggest fan...and I think the reverse is also true! At least for now...

Emmie and her teacher

Mama surprising Em and coming over from work (I work less than 5 minutes from her old preschool)...

Playing "hair salon"
Homemade root beer (Unfortunately, it was not tasty....it had an odd paint thinnery-taste that I think came from using a plastic bottle...that was what the directions said to do but I am thinking we'll try again in glass!)

Days of play...

The goat whisperer
What's not to love about a girl and her apple?

Em's doing so well in her gymnastics classes...we're really proud of her!

Farley LOVES jumping in the tall grass in the field behind our house.

Get a haircut, and get a real job....NO, WAIT! DON'T!!!

So May 31st, I was changing Kaia. I was two rooms from Emma...she was playing in "the lounge" (our play room/library/sewing and crafting space, etc) with trains. When Kaia was good to go, I had to rinse her diaper and then I took the girls downstairs to visit the goats outside. Em had just been standing in the lounge...nothing suspicious that I could see...and we were outside a while, playing with the goats. Em was wearing a hat. On the way inside, she took her hat off and I realized, "omigosh she cut her hair!!!" We went inside so I could fully assess the situation, and I found that she had cut a triangle-shaped chunk of her mid-back length hair! Wow! She didn't have bangs before, it was all one length. Some pieces were less than 1 inch long and it was standing up like some weird kind of Billy Ray Cyrus 1990s mullet. However, once I smoothed it down and got over the shock, it's actually quite adorable!!! She still got a scissor sabbatical for a couple of weeks, though! By the way, the scissors she used were my tiny, tiny needlepoint scissors (about the size of nail scissors). It must have taken a lot of sawing to cut that much hair! Also, she picked up every last piece of hair and put it in the trash can, and put the scissors away, in the bottom of my sewing basket, with my handsewing project on top. My sweet Emma is nothing if not industrious.
Sisters and best friends...at least for the moment. I love that my girls have such a great time together!
Em, being a bride, and marrying Daddy...what little girl doesn't want to marry Daddy?

Emma on her preschool graduation-boat ride!

A couple of cute little geese families wandered by...

Picking flowers for Daddy on his birthday

You can't tell she likes to swing, can you?
Dada's birthday gift from the girls...a Darth Vader bank that talks...they picked it out at a yard sale for him....Em knew he would love it (I'm afraid she was right...)
Emma's "Princess Leia" picture...I am thinking I sense a theme here...Daddy's influence for sure! (Note the cute headband...I made a whole bunch for Em after the *incident*)
Lewis and I at STOMP (My parents bought us tickets as Lewis' 35th birthday present). It was a really, really fun night!

Emma and Kaia at their 5 and 2-year checkups at the Pediatrician...they both did great and loved their stickers and treats!!

Lewis and I went to a 50's benefit dinner with the Scott family...so we dressed up a little! I love costume parties, for any occasion! Kaia, playing with her sand bucket.
My Pretty Emma atop a huge play structure, and loving every minute!

My sweet Bucket, spinning in the rotating chair at the playground.
